Linda Lehrke went Home to the loving arms of Jesus on November 4th, as she slept.
Linda Lou Lehrke, 75, of Cottage Grove, MN passed away November 4, 2016 at 7:30am. Born in La Crosse, WI, she was the sixth child and only daughter of Ethel and George Wittenberg. Growing up, she spent much of her time enjoying the outdoors and riding horses. After graduating from Holmen High School in May 1959, she continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. In 1964 she married Roderick Lehrke in La Crosse, WI. They moved to Chicago, then later settled in Cottage Grove, Minnesota in 1973.
Linda remained devoted to the Lord throughout her life. She volunteered much of her time through her church and community. Following the September 11th terrorist attacks, while three of her sons were deployed in combat zones, she was inspired to found A Touch of Home (ATOH) in 2003. Linda remained involved with the charity, an organization that sends care packages to deployed servicemen and servicewomen.
Linda enjoyed socializing with friends and people in the community, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sewing or making gifts for family members. Throughout her life, she was always ready for adventure, taking on new projects and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by her husband; Rod, her sons and wives; Hanz (Heidi), Karl (Charity), Rod Jr.(Alyse), Derrick(Autumn), and Dustin (Heidi), adopted daughter Teri, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. It brought her great joy to be surrounded by family and friends.
