. . . how many times have we heard that. Christmas, to Christians, is the celebration of Jesus of Nazareth’s birth. Are you aware that since 1870, December 25th has been a federal holiday in the United States? People around the world have been observing Christmas with traditions and practices that have been religious and secular; exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family & friends, waiting for Santa Claus and most precious of all – celebrating Christ’s birth.
Our emphasis for the November boxes (November 9th ) is to give our military overseas the true meaning of Christmas – a Savior born to give each of us eternal life!
We are focusing on two items for November:
1) Christmas cards and
2) Delicious Pumpkin items
1) Special request to all you who enjoy making homemade cards!
We are looking for additional Christmas cards to be made, so we can have ATOH volunteers and Crossroads community sign them. We will then include them in the December boxes so we do need them by November.
Please use the normal cardstock size – only fold them in half so we have lots of area for people to sign them inside. You do not need to provide envelopes as they will be put in the boxes. We would like to get around 64 to 70 cards so we have 3-4 per box.
2) Pumpkin items to fill the boxes with.
We have always sent Pumpkin Bread, but this year, Helen has added some NEW and delicious pumpkin treat recipes on our web-site. Please go to the web-site and pick a recipe, bake it and bring it to be packaged for someone far away from home for Christmas. These will be put in the NOVEMBER boxes

Thank you so much - we want to make Christmas memorable for those so far away from home.
